While reading this immensely beautiful poetry I heard two melodies simultaneously - one deep, confident masculine and another high, multi-dimensional feminine - harmonizing themselves into one magnificent symphony of Love. Immersed in reading, countless love stories were running through my mind. It started first in the Garden of Eden, continued through the generations, reaching the streets of Paris, then migrating to the west coast of the United States - touching the entire world with a great “Love Story.” Films, music, books, paintings, poetry. Love is undeniably the most vital phenomenon in this world, it is so profoundly important to us and yet we are often turning away. We become scared of Love, we shy away, and feel unworthy yet inevitably continue searching.
I caught myself thinking, “Such a blazing power beaming through every poem. Why does this experience reading Sam and Sophie’s poetry feel almost supernatural?” It opened a treasure chest, of melodies, movies, and countless love stories. It’s us. It’s humanity. It’s our history. It’s our ancestors. Our DNA. Our memory. And Love was, is, and will forever be the most important and most powerful substance on this planet and beyond. I believe it is what God is made of.
